What People Are Saying
"I wasn't sure about it at first, honestly. But after just three weeks my partner said I'm moving with so much more confidence. Now I'm the one dragging him to class."
"The instructors don't make you feel rushed. If you're struggling with a step, they'll spend time with you. That's rare and it makes all the difference."
"I've got arthritis in my knees and I was worried. Turns out dancing is actually easier on my joints than the gym. The movement feels natural, not forced."
"Best part? I'm sleeping better and I don't feel as stiff in the mornings. Plus the people in my class have become real friends."
How We Teach
No judgment. No rushing. Just real instruction for real people.
Structured Learning
You'll follow a clear progression. Week 1 covers fundamentals. Week 4 you're comfortable. Week 8 you're dancing properly.
Patient Instruction
Our instructors have trained hundreds of adults over 45. They know exactly what beginners need and they're genuinely patient about it.
Real Music
We teach to authentic bachata and salsa music. You'll develop a real feel for the rhythm, not just count steps.
Safe Space
Everyone's learning. There's no competition. You'll see people of all abilities in the same class and that's completely normal.
Your First Steps
Bachata or salsa? Both are beginner-friendly. Bachata's slower and more romantic. Salsa has more energy and footwork. Pick whichever excites you.
We run beginner sessions Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Waterford, and Monday and Wednesday in Kilkenny. All start at 7pm and run for 90 minutes.
Wear comfortable clothes and soft shoes. Bring water. Come 10 minutes early so we can explain what to expect. That's it.
Give it 4 weeks minimum. That's when it clicks. You'll notice your body remembering steps, your balance improving, and your confidence growing.

What You're Probably Wondering
Do I need a partner?
You'll learn partnering in class. We rotate partners so you're not stuck with the same person. Many people come alone and that's totally normal.
What if I'm not flexible?
Flexibility isn't required. Dance actually improves flexibility over time. Start where you are — that's the whole point of beginner classes.
Is it safe with arthritis or joint issues?
Dance is often recommended for joint health. The movement is fluid and natural, not jarring. Tell your instructor about any concerns and they'll suggest modifications.
How quickly will I improve?
Most people feel noticeable improvement by week 4. You'll stop thinking about your feet and start feeling the music. That's when it gets fun.
What should I wear?
Anything comfortable. Soft-soled shoes or dance shoes work. Don't overthink it — people wear regular trainers and it's fine.
Will I look silly?
Everyone looks "silly" when learning. That's part of it. After the first 20 minutes, you'll realize nobody's watching — they're all focused on their own steps.
